“If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.”

My life’s philosophy is to strive for excellence in all of my endeavors. The best way to do this is not only through performance, but also through listening as a means to finding appropriate solutions. The old cliché “you are never too old to learn” something new is at the core of my life’s philosophy. Sometimes in life, you just have to close your mouth and open your mind.

I have a great love of exploring new things, which is one of the reasons I love to travel. In August 2009, I participated in the English Immersion Program sponsored by Vaughtown and traveled to Madrid, Spain. This Program is designed to work with Spanish speaking individuals that are interested in learning urban English. The program involved a week long interaction between the Spanish speaking individuals and individuals who speak English as their native tongue. The end results are that the Spanish speaking individuals leave with a working knowledge of conversational English, and the English speaking individuals learn first-hand about Spanish culture. This is an ongoing program in which I have plans to participate in each year.

I am currently semi-retired but by no means ready for the proverbial rocking chair on the front porch. I am a political blogger, and I sell real estate on the side. Aside from travel, writing is another one of my many passions.

When I was a young college student, I wanted to become a journalist after I completed my studies. However, after graduation I got distracted and ended up in another direction. But now, I am back. I have a little more time on my hands since going into a semi-retirement state; and a lot more knowledge and wisdom that only comes with age.
